Blue City (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Album by Ry Cooder ‧ 1986

The album Blue City (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is a 1986 film score composed and produced by American roots rock guitarist Ry Cooder. Released on May 2, 1986, by Warner Bros. Records, the album serves as the soundtrack to the Michelle Manning-directed brat pack crime-drama Blue City.

While the film itself was a critical and commercial failure, Cooder's soundtrack features a distinct blend of gritty 1980s synthesizers, slide guitar work, and a few notable roots music covers.
