Essam

Album by Imarhan ‧ 2026

Imarhan released their fourth full-length album, Essam, on January 16, 2026, through the City Slang label. The title means "lightning" in the Tamasheq language and represents a significant sonic shift for the Tuareg quintet.

Recorded at their own Aboogi Studio in Tamanrasset, Algeria, the album moves away from the band's traditional guitar-driven "desert blues" toward a more experimental, modern sound.
