Hotel Sessions
Hotel Sessions is an archival album by the alternative rock band The Lemonheads, initially released in late November 2011 (with wide distribution in early 2012). The 14-track release consists of intimate, "live to cassette" lo-fi recordings captured by frontman Evan Dando on a Walkman over a single Sunday night in a Bondi Beach hotel room in Australia between 1992 and 1993.
The album offers a raw, behind-the-scenes look at Dando's songwriting process, featuring early acoustic drafts of tracks that would eventually define their breakthrough 1993 album, Come on Feel the Lemonheads. The recordings are highly valued by fans for their inclusion of casual spoken-word commentary before tracks, tape hiss, and background noise from the surrounding beach city.
