If You Love These Blues, Play 'Em as You Please
Album by
Mike Bloomfield
‧ 1976
If You Love These Blues, Play 'Em as You Please is a highly acclaimed 1976 solo album by legendary blues guitarist Mike Bloomfield. Originally recorded for Guitar Player magazine's short-lived record label, the project was conceived as an instructional showcase demonstrating a wide variety of historical blues guitar styles. Despite its educational premise, it is widely celebrated as one of Bloomfield’s finest solo achievements, offering a raw return to the roots music he loved. In fact, Bloomfield himself later stated, "I know it's my best record.".
