Live in Buffalo: July 4th, 2004
Live in Buffalo: July 4th, 2004 is a legendary live concert album and DVD by the American rock band The Goo Goo Dolls, released on November 23, 2004, through Warner Records.
The concert took place on a makeshift outdoor stage in Niagara Square, right in front of City Hall in the band's actual hometown of Buffalo, New York. Over 60,000 fans packed the square for the free Fourth of July show, creating an atmospheric hometown triumph that turned historic when a massive, relentless summer downpour began mid-concert. Instead of cutting the performance short, frontman Johnny Rzeznik and the band stayed on stage, playing completely soaked alongside thousands of fans who refused to leave. The rain-drenched performance of their iconic mega-hit "Iris" became culturally cinematic and remains widely regarded as one of the most famous live music moments of the 2000s.
