Sanctuary Park

Sanctuary Park is the 12th studio album by the Minneapolis alt-country and power-pop band The Jayhawks, released on August 28, 2026 through the label Thirty Tigers. The album coincides with the band's 40th anniversary.

The album marks a reunion with legendary producer Bob Ezrin (known for his work with Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, and Peter Gabriel), who previously produced the band's acclaimed 2000 album, Smile.

While the album's title references a real location in Dundas, Ontario, Canada, frontman and chief songwriter Gary Louris uses it conceptually as a fictional safe haven for reflection, childhood memories, and processing modern-day societal grief. Songs like "Mr. Lincoln" use historical framing (an imagined account of a theater musician witnessing Abraham Lincoln's assassination) to reflect on turbulent contemporary times.
