Snoopy for President

Album by The Royal Guardsmen ‧ 1968

Snoopy for President is the fourth studio album by the American pop-rock band The Royal Guardsmen, released on July 1, 1968 by Laurie Records. Following up on their successful novelty hits centered around Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts characters, the title track imagines Snoopy running for President of the United States at the behest of The Great Pumpkin during the turbulent 1968 election. He ultimately wins the electoral vote when his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron, casts the deciding vote as an act of friendship.
