The Man Who Built America

‧ 1979
The Man Who Built America is the eighth studio album by Irish Celtic rock band Horslips, released in 1979. Recorded at Advision Studios in London, the album marks a definitive shift toward a heavier, more commercial arena rock and power-pop sound while still keeping elements of their traditional Irish folk-rock roots.
Conceptually, the album focuses on the Irish emigration experience to the United States. The title track portrays "the man who built America" not as a single historical figure, but as the collective workforce of ordinary Irish immigrants who built the railways, sailed the ships, and worked the land.
