The Ventures' Christmas Album is a classic instrumental surf-rock holiday album released by the American rock band The Ventures in November 1965 on Dolton Records.
The album is famous for its highly creative concept: every Christmas standard is introduced by and mashed up with a famous 1960s rock riff. For example, "Sleigh Ride" opens with the riff from the band's own mega-hit "Walk, Don't Run," while "Frosty the Snowman" borrows the groove from The Champs' "Tequila". It peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Christmas chart in 1965 and remains a holiday favorite.
