Try It Before You Buy It

Album by Mike Bloomfield ‧ 1975

Try It Before You Buy It is a solo album by legendary blues guitarist Mike Bloomfield, recorded in 1973 at Columbia Studios in San Francisco but shelved and not officially released until 1975.

Columbia Records originally declined to put out the album due to Bloomfield's dwindling commercial success at the time, initially printing only a very small number of promotional copies. The album marks a stylistic shift away from his strict Chicago blues roots, leaning heavily into an eclectic mix of gospel, folk-rock, R&B, and New Orleans grooves.
