Zyryab

Album by Paco de Lucía ‧ 1990

Zyryab is a studio album by the legendary flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía and his sextet, released in 1990 through labels like Philips and Verve World.

The album bridges traditional flamenco with latin jazz and features notable collaborations with legendary jazz pianist Chick Corea and flamenco guitarist Manolo Sanlúcar. It is named in honor of Ziryab, a 9th-century polymath, poet, and musician who introduced the Arabic lute to the Iberian Peninsula, which eventually evolved into the Spanish guitar.
