Evil Stig
Evil Stig was a prominent 1995 punk rock supergroup formed by rock icon Joan Jett and the surviving members of the Seattle punk band The Gits—bassist Matt Dresdner, drummer Steve Moriarty, and guitarist Joe Spleen.
The band was created for a deeply impactful purpose: to perform a series of benefit concerts and record an album to raise money to fund the ongoing private investigation into the tragic July 1993 rape and murder of The Gits' legendary lead singer, Mia Zapata. The clever moniker "Evil Stig" is actually "Gits Live" spelled backward.
